What is LNG

LNG is natural gas that has been cooled to –260° F (–162° C), changing it from a gas into a liquid that is 1/600th of its original volume. This dramatic reduction allows it to be shipped safely and efficiently aboard specially designed LNG vessels.

LNG for heavy duty vehicles benefits

  • Liquefaction of natural gas reduces its volume by approximately 600 times making it economical for transport.

  • Saving fuel's cost around 30%

  • LNG in heavy-duty trucks reduces GHG emissions per kilometre up to 20% and almost 100% SOx and particulate matter.

  • LNG is denser than gas and, therefore, more energy can be stored by volume.

  • Tax to claim back, by leaving a green footprint within the company.

  • Stealing fuel is not a possibility on large fleets due to the composition of the fuel

  • Option to run only on diesel

Where is LNG recommended

LNG has the advantage of using only one tank, which leads to lighted option compared to CNG tanks. LNG is the best choice when extended driving range is required, because an LNG tank holds 2.5 times more fuel than a similar sized CNG tank.
